Our Refugee Support Fund offers small grants of up to £200 to cover essentials such as:

HOW TO APPLY
Applications will generally be considered on the recommendation of Elmbridge CAN steering group members or volunteers, the representative of other local charitable organisations, health, council or social services professionals. But refugees and asylum-seekers can also make direct applications. Simply complete our online application form.
Our Refugee Support Fund offers small grants of up to £200 to cover essentials such as:
- travel cards to access education or employment
- language and teaching support
- play therapy and extra-curricular activities for children
- activities that foster social inclusion
- basic household items
- clothes, including shoes, warm coats and school uniforms.

- Send a cheque made payable to 'Elmbridge CAN' to PO Box 112, East Molesey, Surrey, KT8 8EN.
- Make a bank transfer. Please contact us for account details.
We're in the process of setting up an Elmbridge CAN PayPal account. We'll update this page as soon as it's ready.
Please note:
- Grants should not be applied for retrospectively.
- The Steering Group will consider applications and will aim to make a decision within 3 weeks.
- If an application is urgent, the Steering Group will aim to make a decision within a week and process the funds as soon as possible thereafter.
- If an application is approved but insufficient funds are available then it will be carried forward and actioned as soon as possible thereafter.
- Receipts will be required for accounting purposes.
- If an application is unsuccessful, applicants or their representatives can appeal in writing within 14 days of the initial decision.
- Maximum of 3 applications per person, per year to the fund.
- Elmbridge CAN is a small community group, not a registered charity and as such, we cannot currently claim gift aid on your donations.
