About the role
We’re looking for a communications and marketing volunteer to join our passionate and committed team, working to resettle and welcome refugees within the Borough of Elmbridge. We need someone who can help deliver our web and e-communications strategy to help us better engage the communities and organisations within Elmbridge, and more effectively support refugees who settle here. Because you’ll be joining at the beginning of our journey, you’ll be able to help shape what we do and how we do it.
Salary: Voluntary
Location: Home-based
Hours: Flexible hours but must be able to commit to 3 hours per week (min)

- Writing regular news and feature articles for our website www.elmbridgecan.org.uk.
- Compiling monthly e-news for subscribers.
- Managing event communications for fundraising and community-wide engagement events
SKILLS
Essential
- Excellent written English.
- Ability to write well and tell a story.
- Good organisational skills and the ability to work to deadlines.
- Passion for the role and a commitment to the aims of Elmbridge CAN.
- Ability to work as part of a team.
- Experience of writing news articles.
- Knowledge/understanding of the current refugee crisis.
- Understanding of email marketing and CRM systems.
