ELMBRIDGE CAN TALKS TO BBC SURREY

On Wednesday 25 April, Elmbridge CAN Chair, Steve Wells, and Co-Founder, Jeannie Tweedie, spoke to BBC Surrey about our work in the community.

Jeannie explained: “We have brilliant links with the local community, and that’s what we’re about – mobilising the community… that’s helpful in a practical way, but also makes the refugees feel welcome, and we want to send a message of welcome.”
Steve added: “I think we’ve been overwhelmed by resources and commitment from the local community. It really gives a lie to that common perception that Britain is insular and mean spirited. We have seen absolutely the opposite in Elmbridge.” Listen to the full interview. |
