THANK YOU FOR REGISTERING FOR OUR UPCOMING EVENT
We are very excited to be hosting this community event - Welcoming Refugees: Elmbridge CAN - and hope you will find the evening both informative and engaging. Please find further details below:
WHAT TO EXPECT
You will have the opportunity to hear from speakers who have been directly involved in the resettlement of refugees in the South East of England. You will also hear what it really means to be a refugee – and what difference the Syrian Vulnerable Persons Resettlement Scheme will make to the families fortunate enough to come here.
We plan to spend the majority of the time in a facilitated workshop session discussing the challenges around resettlement. You may or may not already be very knowledgeable about the complexities of the refugee crisis and the UKs resettlement schemes. However, to get the most out of this session, we will shortly be sending you some pre-event reading. We would be very grateful if you could find a small amount of time to read over this material before the event.
EVENT TIMINGS
We intend to start promptly at 7pm. You are welcome to arrive from 6:30pm to network and enjoy some refreshments. We anticipate finishing between 9 and 9:30pm.
PARKING
Free parking is available after 6pm at the Esher Civic Centre car park.
We very much look forward to meeting you on 29th November and exploring how we can work together positively to resettle refugees within Elmbridge Borough.
In the meantime, if you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact us.
Best wishes,
Jeannie Tweedie
