FUNDRAISING VOLUNTEER NEEDED

About the role
We’re looking for an experienced fundraising volunteer to join our passionate and committed team, working to resettle and welcome refugees within the Borough of Elmbridge. You will work with the Elmbridge CAN team to develop and implement a fundraising strategy for businesses, the local community and other charitable trusts. You will also develop and maintain our relationship with high value donors. The ability to network and forge positive relationships with supporters is paramount for this role.
Salary: Unpaid/voluntary
Location: Home-based
Hours: Flexible hours but must be able to commit to a minimum of 3 hours per week

KEY TASKS
- Develop and implement a strategy for individual and corporate fundraising.
- Develop new and imaginative fundraising activities – which may involve organising events.
- Increase funds by researching and targeting charitable trusts whose criteria match the aims of Elmbridge CAN.
- Engage new supporters while maintaining and developing relationships with existing supporters.
- Develop and coordinate web-based fundraising – including crowd-funding campaigns as appropriate.
- Manage and update databases to record donor contact.
- Provide regular feedback to the Elmbridge CAN team on fundraising activities and income.
- Liaise with other members of the Elmbridge CAN team (and in particular the treasurer) as needed to fulfil the role.
SKILLS
Essential
- Creativity, imagination and an entrepreneurial attitude towards fundraising.
- Ability to influence others with excellent communication skills – both written and oral.
- The ability to build and maintain relationships.
- Self-starter.
- Good organisational and project management skills.
- Willingness to volunteer occasional evenings and weekends.
- Passion for the role and commitment to the aims of Elmbridge CAN.
- Previous experience of fundraising in the charity sector and/or at a community level.
- Proven ability to meet financial targets.
- Knowledge/understanding of the current refugee crisis.
