About the role
We’re looking for a social media volunteer to join our passionate and committed team, working to resettle and welcome within the Borough of Elmbridge. We need someone who can create and deliver a social media strategy to help us engage the communities and organisations within Elmbridge, and more effectively support the refugees who settle here.
Salary: Unpaid/voluntary
Location: Home-based
Hours: Flexible hours but must be able to commit to 2-3 hours per week (min)

KEY TASKS
- Create and manage content for Elmbridge CAN’s Facebook page www.facebook.com/elmbridgecan
- Grow the number of supporters on Facebook and the depth of involvement through regular posts, engaging content and responding to comments and messages.
- Liaise with other members of the Elmbridge CAN team as needed to create suitable content.
- Monitor Facebook engagement stats to see what works and what doesn't and use this to inform our social media strategy going forward.
- Explore other social media channels that might be suitable to increase our reach.
Essential
- Excellent written English.
- Experience of writing for the web.
- Experience of managing social media networks.
- Good organisational skills and the ability to work to deadlines.
- Self-starter.
- Passion for the role and commitment to the aims of Elmbridge CAN.
- Experience of writing social media strategies.
- Up-to-date knowledge of what’s happening in social media.
- Knowledge/understanding of the current refugee crisis.
